Investment in Pakistan is a study undertaken by us to provide
information on corporate, financial, taxation and general aspects
of Investment in Pakistan.
The information contained in this study has been taken from the
quarterly/annual reports published by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP),
Economic Survey of Pakistan, Board of Investment Policies, information
published in business magazines and newspapers and information extracted
from the relevant web sites.
Pakistan's investment policies have been characterized by steady
moves to liberalization, deregulation, and privatization. The direction
of the policies has been consistent, market-led, and business-friendly.
The Government has taken major steps to accelerate programmes to
address investors' concerns, new sector and export promotion support
measures are being implemented, full support to existing and new
investments is being provided, the privatization programme is being
given high priority, the tariff and tax systems and related institutions
are being restructured, streamlined and a fundamental dismantling
of the bureaucratic culture is underway.
